Digital Citizenship

Workshops

This is a program that I implemented with the help of Common Sense Education to help teachers and students learn about what a good digital citizen is.  We were receiving iPads and needed to make sure that all of our K-8 students were prepared to be safe and responsible online. The entire grade level would meet in the cafeteria during their breakfast and begin by watching a short video. After the video was over, discussion questions were asked and we began a dialogue about the topic. Any required materials were given to the teacher, and they would bring their students back to class and finish up the lesson in a more intimate setting. All students were given a pledge and a schedule of upcoming topics for each month of the school year.
